Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Merius ("we") handles your information in our mobile applications. The sections below apply to every app; app-specific details at the end describe exactly what each app collects and where it goes. The short version: we collect only what an app needs to work, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

Our principles

• We collect the minimum an app needs to provide the features you use.
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
• Our apps contain no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• Where an app can do its work on your device, it does.

Payments

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details; we only receive confirmation of which plan is active.

Permissions

Apps ask for access to things like your camera, photos, microphone or speech recognition only when you use a feature that needs it. You can change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.

Third-party services

When an app sends data to a service we do not operate, we name that service in the app-specific section below. Data is sent only to produce the result you asked for, and those providers handle it under their own privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

We keep data only as long as needed to provide the app. Each app-specific section explains how to delete your data.

Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is processed. Contact us to exercise these rights; we will respond within the time the law requires.

App-specific details

Nartie

• Account details. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In are supported; when you use them we receive only the identifier and email those services share.
• Photos you upload. Nail analysis, virtual try-on and progress tracking work on photos you choose to upload. They are stored securely on our servers, linked to your account, so you can revisit your results.
• Usage counters. We record how many times you use metered features (for example, analyses and try-ons) to enforce plan allowances.
• AI providers. Analysis is powered by Anthropic Claude and image generation by Google Gemini. Images are sent to these providers only to produce the result you requested.
• Retention and deletion. Analysis history, saved designs, progress photos and care routines are kept until you delete them individually or delete your account from the Profile screen, which permanently removes them.

Heednote

• No account, nothing on our servers. Heednote has no sign-up and no server of ours. Your notebooks, drawings, documents, photos and recordings never reach Merius.
• Where your notes live. On your device and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud database, synced by Apple between your devices. We cannot access it. Backups you export are files you control.
• On-device processing. Handwriting recognition, text recognition (OCR), search indexing and transcription of recordings run on your device.
• AI study tools. Summaries and practice questions use Apple's on-device model. Where available and only when you ask, a request may be processed by Apple Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designed so that your data is not stored or made accessible to anyone, including Apple and us.
• Permissions. Microphone (to record audio), speech recognition (to transcribe recordings on your device), and photos (only the images you pick to insert).
• Websites you open. If you turn on the optional AI assistant panel, it opens the website of the service you choose (for example ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) inside the app; anything you type there is governed by that service's privacy policy. Links you open in notes behave the same way.
• Purchases. Pro purchases go through Apple; the app checks your plan with the App Store on your device.
• Deletion. Delete notebooks in the app (and empty the Trash), or delete the app. To remove synced copies, delete the app's data in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.
• Launch list. If you sign up on heednote.com, we keep your email address, the date and the country your request came from, only to tell you when Heednote launches. The list is stored by Cloudflare on our behalf, is never sold or shared, and we remove your address whenever you ask at hello@merius.co.
• Diagnostics. We receive only the anonymous crash and usage reports you choose to share with app developers through Apple.

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date below.
